Danger Nitrogen Safety Sign

Gaseous nitrogen has become ubiquitous in a wide range of industrial manufacturing and transportation processes. Because of its inert nature, this gaseous element is appropriate for use in processes where process–driver side reactions may induce changes in the final products. Nitrogen gas concentrations above a certain threshold can be extremely hazardous to human health. Within a confined environment, nitrogen can displace oxygen from the ambient air, resulting in a harmful buildup of the inert gas and asphyxiation. One of the characteristics of nitrogen gas that makes it particularly harmful is its odorlessness and hence impossible for people to know they are entering a dangerous atmosphere.

These safety signs are an important reminder that there are fatal risks associated with the machinery in operation and to be aware.

AS 1319 specifics that Danger Signs must incorporate the word "Danger" in white letters on a red oval inside a black background. Danger Signs should be used in life threatening conditions.

AS 1319:1994 sets out the minimum requirements for the design and use of safety signs intended for use in the occupational environment. Signs are designed to regulate and control safety related behaviour, to warn of hazards and to provide emergency information including fire protection information.
