Danger High Voltage Safety Sign
Working with or in the vicinity of electricity present numerous risks that are life threatening. The four main types of risks are electrocution, electric shock, burns or falling.
Electrocution is an occurrence of when electricity passes through a vital organ resulting in a fatal outcome.
Electric shocks similar to electrocution but not fatal and still causes significant damage to the nervous system. When an individual comes into contact with an electric current, either directly or indirectly, they can become fused to the equipment. This prolonged contact exacerbates the injury and causes severe burns and chronic pain.
Electrical Burns occur as a result of coming in contact with live parts or due to a short-circuit resulting in arc flash. These burns don't always appear instantly on the skin and can show up weeks, or even months later. Electrical burns can be difficult to treat and can resulting in permanent scarring
Falling is a result of coming in contact with live parts the person looses consciousness or control of their muscles.
